From the news, everybody knows that New Orleans was strongly impacted by hurricane Katrina. What you may not realize is that the Louisiana GO Zone is actually much broader than just what was covered in the news.

The map below shows the Louisiana GO Zone and the areas where bonus depreciation is available. Also notice that there are different parishes impacted by Katrina and those impacted by Rita, another storm to the West. For real estate investors, this is important because only those areas impacted by Katrina can take advantage of Bonus Depreciation.
